Ten members of the Illinois State track and field team were named to the 2001 Missouri Valley Conference Track and Field Scholar-Athlete Team, Friday.
Representing the Redbird women were juniors Stacia Beste, Hillary Hyland and Egle Kregzdyte, along with sophomores Hildegunn Holten, Alia Hoyle and Jen Klostermann.
On the mens side was senior Peter Madsen and juniors Kevin Bailey, Robert Breit and Christian Goy.
To qualify for the Valley Scholar-Athlete Team, athletes had to place in the top six at either the indoor or outdoor league championships, be in their second year of competition and maintain a GPA of 3.00 or higher.
