The Illinois State track and field team travels to Madison, Wis., on Saturday, January 26, to compete in the Wisconsin Elite Invitational. Field events will begin at 11 a.m., while the running events start at noon.
The Birds will compete against Wisconsin (men and women), Illinois (men and women) and Oregon (men only). The meet will also be open to independent athletes.
Wisconsin is always a fun place to go and compete, said Illinois State head track and field coach Jeff Pigg. The meets are always well organized and the competition level is always high. I think our team is ready for the challenge and it will be excellent preparation for the Valley Indoor Championships (February 21-23).
Illinois State returns home to host the Redbird All-Comers meet on Saturday, February 2.
