Members of the Illinois State track and field teams will be competing at the Titan Open Saturday hosted by Illinois Wesleyan at the Shirk Center in Bloomington.
A start time of 11 a.m. is slated for the meet with field events opening up the days events and running events to follow. It will not be a team-scored event and other teams that will have athletes participating include the host, Southern Illinois-Edwardsville, Washington, Elmhurst, Illinois College and Greenville College.
We are planning on taking some individuals from our team to give them a chance to participate at a level they are capable of handling at this point in the season, said head coach Elvis Forde. We still expect good performances from the athletes we are sending to Illinois Wesleyan, but this gives our team the chance to rest certain athletes while giving others the opportunity to shine.
