ISU Leads 26-14 Through Three Quarters

NORMAL, Ill. - Two Redbird scores in the third quarter gave ISU a 12-point advantage, 26-14. The Bears were knocking on the door of their first score as the third quarter came to an end.

ISU scored nine unanswered points to open the third quarter, scoring on both of its possessions. Junior Zach Kutch connected on a career-long 43-yard field goal and senior Walter Mendenhall had a three-yard rushing touchdown. Mendenhall had eight carries for 58 of ISU's 62 yards on the scoring drive.

Missouri State's offense picked up at the end of the quarter, moving the ball inside of the ISU five-yard line when the period ended. The Bears had 31 yards on the ground and a pair of 14-yard passing plays to put the ball on the one-yard line to start the fourth quarter.
