Third Quarter Update

NORMAL, Ill. Illinois State was able to get on the board in the third quarter when quarterback Drew Kiel connected with wide receiver Kelvin Chandler. The scoring drive was the result of a career long pass from Kiel to Chandler for 51 yards, putting the ISU offensive at the North Dakota State 10-yard line. The touchdown resulted when Kiel and Chandler connected once again on a four-yard pass, the drive was nine plays and took 5:11 off the clock.

Illinois State ended the second half with quarterback Drew Kiel's pass intercepted by Nick Schommer at the NDSU 25-yard line.

The Redbird offensive was held to 43 total offensive yards with tailback Parrish Fisher leading all ISU rushers with eight carries, and 22 yards for ISU.

The Bison's offensive attack continued in the second quarter as NDSU's running back Tyler Roehl's touchdown took four minutes, 15 seconds off the clock in nine plays.

North Dakota State jumped out to a 8-0 lead in the first quarter after quarterback Kevin Brockway was sacked in the `Birds end zone by NDSU's Joe Lardinois in the beginning minutes of the first quarter.

With the ball back in the Bison's hands, running back Tyler Roehl ran for a 46-yard touchdown. The extra point was denied Illinois State defensive lineman Michael Rhines.
