NORMAL, Ill. – On a sunny but chilly Saturday morning on Jay and Lori Bergman Field at Hancock Stadium, Illinois State worked through its first scrimmage of Spring Camp 2026.
The Redbirds focused on several key situations during the 100-plus play workout, including coming off the goalline, driving the field, red zone and goal line, and a two-minute period to end things.
Scoring Summary:
• The first score of the scrimmage came during the fourth possession of driving the field, as the offense led by quarterback Gage Roy started the drive on the visitor 38 and needed nine plays to find the endzone on a 7-yard touchdown run by Tyler Lofton.
• The second score of the day also came on the ground, as Anthony Hall bowled his way into the end zone from one yard out to cap off a 9-play, 66-yard scoring drive.
• As the action moved to the red zone session, the defense put a score on the board as Doreon Dubose recovered a fumble and returned it for an 87-yard touchdown the other direction.
• On the ensuing possession, Casey Roney drilled a 33-yard field goal to put three more points on the board.
• Hall would score his second touchdown of the day on the second to last red zone possession, as an 11-yard pass from Beckham Pellant to Dallas Amos set up a one-yard touchdown run for Hall.
• On the final possession, Chase Kwiatkowski scored on a 1-yard touchdown run to cap the scoring for the day.
