NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State will wrap up a tough two-game road trip this weekend when they travel downstate to face off against No. 6 ranked Southern Illinois Saturday at McAndrew Stadium in Carbondale, Ill. ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview this weekend's game with the Salukis and will recap last weekend's road victory at North Dakota State at his weekly press conference Tuesday at the Kaufman Football Building.
Redshirt freshman quarterback and Marion, Ill., native Matt Brown and senior placekicker Zach Kutch will also take part and offer insights on the Salukis from a player's point of view. Brown completed 20-of-23 passes for 213 yards and two scores before halftime. He continued to perform well after the intermission en route to a career-best 30-of-42 passes completed and a career-high 320 yards. Kutch connected on two field goals in a game for the first time in his career at North Dakota State, converting a 38-yard try in the first quarter and a 23-yarder in the fourth. A 40-yard try from Kutch was blocked in the third quarter, but he converted on all three PATs to stay perfect on the season (12-for-12) in that category.
The press conference will begin at noon with the players' comments and will be streamed live on GoRedbirds.com. The live video is free to watch on Redbird All-Access, the Illinois State Athletics Department's exclusive multimedia platform.
