Glenn Named CFL Offensive Player of the Month

TORONTO - Former Illinois State quarterback Kevin Glenn was named one of Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Month for October, the Canadian Football League announced Tuesday.

Teammate Justin Hickson (DE, Hamilton), Jovan Johnson (KR, Winnipeg) and Andy Fantuz (SB, Saskatchewan) were the three other honorees selected by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

Glenn had a fantastic month for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, as he helped lead the team to the playoffs for the first time since 2004, and a home playoff date for the first time since 2001. Glenn had one of the strongest months for a quarterback all season, as he threw for a total of 1,652 yards on 128-of-194 completions (66 percent). Glenn threw eight touchdown passes and rushed for another against just three interceptions in the month.

His strongest game came against the Montreal Alouettes in a week 16 matchup, as he threw for 506 yards and three touchdowns on 29 of 44 completions. For his efforts, he was named the Gibson's Finest CFL Offensive Player of the Week for week 16. Glenn became the first player to throw for more than 500 yards since Jason Maas threw for 540 yards in 2004 with the Edmonton Eskimos.

Glenn and his teammates will return to action Nov. 15, when they take on the B.C. Lions in the Eastern Division semifinals in Hamilton at Ivor Wynne Stadium.
