Football Career Comes to an End for ISU's Hall

NORMAL, Ill. - Illinois State's Khenon Hall underwent successful surgery to repair a herniated disc and fracture of his cervical spine, but the Redbird defensive back walked away from football Tuesday to prevent further serious injury.

"Obviously, I never had the opportunity to coach Khenon, but I do know that he is a competitor and I feel for him right now," said ISU head football coach Brock Spack. "This is a tough time for him, but this is the best long-term decision for Khenon."

Hall suffered the injury at Western Illinois (Nov. 15). He played in 10 games for the Redbirds, after transferring from Trinity Valley Community College, and started three games. He ranked sixth on the team in tackles with 39, including 20 solo stops. Hall also added three tackles-for-loss and three pass breakups.
