NORMAL, Ill. - Fans of Illinois State football have a virtual seat reserved for media day through a new page unveiled at GoRedbirds.com Monday. Visitors to the page will not only be able to see and hear the August 6 event from Hancock Stadium and the Kaufman Football Building, but will be able to interact through a live blog beginning at 9 a.m.
The Illinois State media relations office has set up a live video feed and media day blog that will allow selected players and staff to immediately respond to questions posted by fans. Between interviews, the blog will offer a description of what's happening at media day and provide general commentary.
“We're always looking for ways to connect Illinois State Athletics with our fans, and for opportunities to tell the great stories of our student-athletes,” said Todd Kober, Illinois State Associate Athletics Director for Media Relations.
The coverage will continue through Illinois State head coach Brock Spack's press conference at 11 a.m., during which, selected questions submitted through the blog may be presented to by a moderator.
Interested fans can set an email reminder for the blog by accessing the page here, or using the sidelines on the football homepage to navigate to the media day page.
