Titan Open Results 
While the bulk of the Illinois State track and field teams were competing over the weekend at the Indiana Relays in Bloomington, Ind., several other Redbirds had strong performances closer to home at the Titan Open hosted by Illinois Wesleyan.
The 55-meter hurdles posed little challenge on the day for the Redbirds, as Camille Edwards (8.38) and Kendric Smith (7.67) each took first place in their respective finals. Chris Mizel also secured a first-place finish in the men's triple jump with a leap of 45'05.25" and Erik Stanton took first place in the mile with a time of 4:27.12 inside the Shirk Center.
In women's action, Hannah Query finished in third place in the 55-meter dash with a time of 7.44 second and came back to finish in seventh place in the 200-meter dash in 26.64 seconds. Lisa Devereaux also had a pair of strong showings in the distance events, as she finished the mile in 5:37.97 to finish in fifth place and was eighth in the 3,000 meter run with a time of 11:30.39, followed closely by teammate Emily Gallup in ninth place with a time of 11:32.16.
On the men's side, former ISU football standout Geno Blow finished in eighth place in the 55-meter dash with a time of 6.70 seconds and Drew Dienslake placed seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.88 seconds. Rounding out the action was Rob Barkulis in the 800-meter with a fourth-place finish with a time of 1:58.75.
The Redbirds return to action Friday, Feb. 5, when the travel to South Bend, Ind., for the Meyo Invitational hosted by Notre Dame. The two-day meet will begin at 6 p.m. CT in the Loftus Sports Center.
