NORMAL, Ill. - Due to the generosity of Bob and Julie Dobski, owners of all the McDonald's restaurants in Bloomington-Normal and McLean, local, valued McDonald's customers will be able to pick up vouchers, beginning Wednesday at 5:30 a.m., for free tickets to Saturday's Missouri Valley Football Conference game between Illinois State and No. 16-ranked Indiana State at Hancock Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled to 1 p.m.
McDonald's patrons can pick up the vouchers, while supplies last, from Wednesday through Saturday, and turn them in for game tickets through the Illinois State Athletics Ticket Office (9 a.m. - 5 p.m., W-F), or at Gates 1 and 4 at Hancock Stadium on game day, beginning at 9 a.m.. The limited number of tickets will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis.
"We appreciate Bob and Julie's support of Illinois State Athletics and the Redbird football program," Illinois State Director of Athletics Gary Friedman said. "As pillars in the Bloomington-Normal community, we value their leadership and willingness to help others enjoy the entertainment Illinois State football brings to the area on home Saturdays."
"We are always so happy to be partnering with Illinois State University and its athletics department," Julie Dobski said. "Last Saturday, during Homecoming we had a terrific day at McDonald's and we are so happy to offer complimentary tickets to this Saturday's game. We understand that it is a very important game and we are here to support Illinois State."
The Redbirds, who are coming off of a 28-3 Homecoming victory over then-ranked No. 14 South Dakota, enter Saturday's game against Indiana State with the No. 14-ranked defense in the nation statistically. In addition, Saturday's game at Hancock Stadium is also Faculty/Staff Day and Kids' Day.
As part of Kids' Day, there will be several inflatables in Reggie's Fun Zone, as well as many other activities for the youngest of Redbird fans.
