CHAMPAIGN, Ill. – The Illinois State women's tennis team travels to Illinois this weekend to compete at the Intercollegiate Tennis Association Regional. The six day tournament will take place at Atkins Tennis Center beginning Thursday, Oct. 16 at 9 a.m. through Tuesday, Oct. 21.
Qualifying junior Kadi Ilves will compete for the Redbirds in the singles main draw, and the duo of Ilves and sophomore Chanel Scudiero will compete in the qualifying doubles main draw.
"This will be a great opportunity for Kadi and Chanel to finish their fall season on a high note," head coach Maja Kovacek said. "Playing in this region will give them a chance for some good wins against ranked opponents. They have worked very hard on developing their game, and I'm excited to see it all come together."
Joining ISU to compete at the ITA championships will include Akron, Bradley, Butler, Chicago State, Cleveland State, DePaul, Detroit, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, IPFW, Marquette, Michigan, Northern Illinois, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Toledo, UIC, Wisconsin-Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Youngstown State.
The ITA Midwest Regional will conclude the fall season for the Redbirds, with the spring season beginning Jan. 25 against Illinois in Champaign.
