NORMAL, Ill. – Redbird fans wanting to increase their knowledge of the game of basketball will get the chance, as the Illinois State women's basketball program will host 'Basketball 101', Wednesday, Nov. 12th, at Redbird Arena. The event, which is free for anyone 18 years-or-older, will run from 7-8:30 p.m., on Doug Collins Court. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Fans in attendance will get the chance to hear from head women's basketball coach Barb Smith, head men's basketball coach Dan Muller, as well as former Redbird women's coach and Women's Basketball Hall of Fame member Jill Hutchison. The trio will cover game terminology, offensive and defensive strategies, as well as game-like scenarios plus much more.
Besides the coaches, fans will also get to hear from senior guard Katy Winge, as well as officials' evaluator Bo Cryder. There will also be 10 celebrity guests to help with the offensive and defensive demonstrations.
