NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's basketball program and head coach Barb Smith signed Colleene Smith to a National Letter of Intent Wednesday. Smith, who was recruited as a guard, signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Illinois State. With the graduation of two seniors, Smith will make a big impact on the Redbird roster next season at both ends of the court.

Notable: Smith was ASA's second-leading scorer during the 2013-14 season, averaging 14 points per game and nine rebounds per game ... for her performance last season, she received National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) All-America honorable-mention accolades ... scored a career-high 39 points and pulled down a career-high 20 rebounds ... Smith helped the Avengers advance to the second round of the NJCAA National Tournament two years in a row.
