Women's Basketball Signs Tolar Wednesday

Tolar will make a big impact on the Redbird roster next season.

NORMAL, Ill. - The Illinois State women's basketball program and head coach Barb Smith signed Kelli Tolar to a National Letter of Intent during the signing period Wednesday. Tolar, who was recruited as a guard, signed to continue her athletic and academic careers at Illinois State. With the graduation of two seniors, Tolar will make a big impact on the Redbird roster next season.

Notable: Played in 28 games with 27 starts at Dodge City Community College ... she averaged 18 points per game during the 2013-14 season and scored 505 points on the season ... made 41.3 percent of her field goal attempts ... sank 40 percent of her shot attempts from beyond the arc and connected on 74 percent of her free throw attempts ... she pulled down 4.1 rebounds per game and dished out 2.9 assists per game ... had 37 steals during the 2013-14 season.
