NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State football team strapped on its shoulder pads for the first time since the end of spring practice, when the Redbirds took the field for their third practice of 2014 fall training camp at Hancock Stadium on Saturday.
Players were able to have limited contact for the first time during camp, and with it came some feistiness as well, with a lot of talking and some big plays on both sides of the ball. The team went through individual drills, with a particular focus on special team work with blocking fits and form tackling during the early part of the workout.
