NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team finished a strong opening weekend at the SIUE Fall Invitational in Edwardsville, Illinois and the Indiana Hoosier Classic in Bloomington, Indiana with an overall singles and doubles record of 28-7.
The Indiana Hoosier Classic wrapped up Sunday afternoon with junior Jakub Eisner playing in the only match of the day for the Redbirds, resulting in a default win. Tournament play at the SIUE Fall Invitational ended Saturday.
It will be a quick turn around for the Redbirds, with the squad splitting up again next weekend to compete in the Western Michigan Vredevelt Invitational in Kalamazoo, Michigan, Sept. 26-28, and at the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sept. 26-29.
