NORMAL, Ill. – Fans can watch Thursday's men's and women's basketball media conferences, featuring men's basketball coach Dan Muller and women's basketball coach Barb Smith, beginning at 1 p.m., from the media room in Redbird Arena. The event will be streamed live on RedbirdHD.tv.
After Muller is finished fielding questions, junior guard DeVaughn Akoon-Purcell and senior guard Daishon Knight are scheduled to take the podium. Smith will then address the media at approximately 1:30 p.m. Due to scheduling conflicts, no women's players are available for Thursday's press conference.
The Illinois State men's basketball team (10-7, 2-3 MVC) hosts I-74 Rival Bradley Saturday at 4 p.m., in the first meeting of the annual two-game series. The Taste of Redbirds will take place beforehand, from 1:30 p.m. until 3:30 p.m., in Horton Field House. Knight leads Illinois State with 15.0 points per game, while Akoon-Purcell is second on the team with 13.6 points per contest.
The Illinois State women's basketball team (0-14, 0-3 MVC) starts a two-game homestand by hosting Evansville Friday at 7 p.m., followed by the Redbirds' annual PACK the Arena Game, Sunday at 2 p.m. versus Indiana State.
