NORMAL, Ill. – For the second-straight week, No. 4 Illinois State will square off against a nationally ranked foe, as the Redbirds travel to Youngstown, Ohio, to face No. 7 Youngstown State on Saturday. ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview the game against the Penguins at The Brock Spack Show on Thursday, Oct. 8, which airs live from Schooners on WJBC 1230-AM from 6-7 p.m.
The Brock Spack Show airs live every Thursday from 6-7 p.m., from Schooners in Bloomington.
Recent trips to Youngstown have not gone the way of the Redbirds, as they have dropped three-straight games to the Penguins at Stambaugh Stadium. The Ice Castle remains the only conference road facility in which Spack has not won during his time as the head coach at Illinois State. With a 3-1 overall record and No. 7 ranking, the task will be daunting once again for ISU this weekend.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz, and will be joined by junior center Mark Spelman. A two-year starter at center for the Redbirds, Spelman has been a key to the success of All-American running back Marshaun Coprich, who set every school record in 2014 and is on pace for another stellar season in 2015.
Schooners is located at 810 East Grove Street in Bloomington, and sits just off the corner of Grove and Clinton Streets. For those who can't make it out to Schooners to watch the show live, it will be broadcast on WJBC 1230 AM in the Twin Cities and streamed live on GoRedbirds.com.
