Women’s Basketball Volunteers in the Community

NORMAL, Ill. – The women's basketball team continues to give back to the community by volunteering with various organizations over recent weeks.

"Community Service is a large part of our program," head coach Barb Smith said. "It provides a reminder for us that life is much broader than just our own small piece of it. We care about our community, and it feels good to serve others.  We always learn something new, and we enjoy the people we work with."

The women's basketball team volunteered in various capacities at the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure and the Walk to End Alzheimer's. ISU helped with event management at both events.

The Redbirds held their first practice of the 2015-16 season Sunday, October 4. ISU hosts Lindenwood in an exhibition game at Redbird Arena on Nov. 4, before opening the regular season on Nov. 13 at Bowling Green.
