Coprich, Warrum Named STATS FCS All-Americans

CHICAGO – For the second-consecutive year, Illinois State running back Marshaun Coprich was recognized as one of the best players in the country, when the STATS FCS All-America Team was announced and Coprich was selected as a first-team All-American Tuesday.

He was joined on the team by wide receiver Anthony Warrum, who earned All-America honors for the first time in his career after being named a third-team selection.  Coprich was one of six first-team selections from the Missouri Valley Football Conference and the Redbird duo was among the 13 overall selections, second only to the Big Sky Conference.

One of three players invited to Frisco, Texas, to the STATS FCS Awards Banquet as a nominee for Offensive Player of the Year, Coprich earned First-Team All-America honors from the organization for the second year in a row.  The two-time MVFC Offensive Player of the Year followed up a historic junior campaign in 2014 with another stellar effort during his senior season in 2015.

Coprich led the MVFC in every rushing category and ranks No. 2 in the FCS in rushing yards (1,967) and rushing yards per game (151.3), and No. 2 in points per game (11.2). He helped Illinois State to a share of the MVFC title for a second-consecutive season and led the Redbirds to the quarterfinals of the FCS playoffs for the third time in the last four seasons.

The Victorville, California, native rushed for over 100 yards in 10 games in 2015 and had four games with over 200 yards rushing, including a stretch of three-straight 200-plus yard efforts from Nov. 14 to Dec. 5.  He finished his illustrious career with 5,201 rushing yards, second most in MVFC history behind Zach Zenner of South Dakota State, and scored 60 career touchdowns.

Warrum exploded onto the scene during his junior season and earned All-MVFC First-Team honors for the Redbirds at wide receiver. He set an Illinois State single-season record and led the MVFC with 15 receiving touchdowns and ranked second in the league with 1,290 yards on 58 receptions. He recorded over 100 yards receiving in six contests, including the last two games of the season, and set a career-best with 241 yards receiving at South Dakota State.

The Fishers, Indiana, native currently ranks No. 2 in receiving touchdowns (15) and yards per reception (22.2), No. 4 in receiving yards (1,290) and No. 8 in receiving yards per game (99.2) among all receivers in FCS football.
