NORMAL, Ill. – Redbird fans hoping to secure the best seats, closest to the action, at the 2016 Missouri Valley Conference Women's Basketball Tournament are encouraged to purchase them directly through the Illinois State Athletics ticket office. The order deadline is Feb. 12, 2016. In addition, fans who want to make the trip and support the Redbirds can reserve a room at the Holiday Inn Rock Island Hotel and Conference Center.
All-session tournament tickets for all Valley Tournament games are on sale now for a rate of $40. The tickets can be purchased by visiting the Illinois State Athletics ticket office in Redbird Arena, or secured online via GoRedbirds.com/tickets. Fans can also buy tickets over the phone by calling (309) 438-8000.
Illinois State has a block of rooms with a nightly group rate of $104 at the Holiday Inn Rock Island Hotel and Conference Center, which is approximately 3.5 miles from iWireless Center. The block of rooms is available Thursday (March 10) through Saturday (March 12) nights. The group rate is available to Redbird fans until Feb. 26, subject to availability. Fans can make a reservation by calling (309) 794-1212.
Starting in 2016, the 10-team event will take place at the iWireless Center, March 10-13, with the champion earning the league's automatic NCAA Tournament bid. The championship weekend begins with two opening-round games on Thursday. Four quarterfinal games will tip-off at noon on Friday, with the semifinals on Saturday afternoon and the championship title game on Sunday afternoon.
When the MVC Women's Basketball Tournament tips off in Quad Cities in 2016, it will mark the ninth consecutive season in its 34-year history that the event will take place at a neutral site.
