NORMAL, Ill. – Senior Redbird diver Wenting Zhang will make her second-consecutive appearance at the NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships when she heads to Greensboro, North Carolina, to compete at the event this Thursday and Friday.
For the second year in a row, Zhang will compete in both the 1-meter and 3-meter diving events. Zhang qualified for the national meet by placing fifth on the 3-meter board, with a score of 641.20, at the NCAA Diving Zone Regional last week in Columbus, Ohio. Zhang took sixth on the 1-meter board, with a score of 599.15.
"I am very excited and honored for Wendy to be a part of the 2015 NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships," head diving coach Phil Hoffmann said. "To be at the top meet of the year is an honor and great accomplishment.
"I'm very proud of the way she has represented ISU in her career and I look forward to ending her career on a high note. I know she is excited for the championships to get started."
Zhang will compete first in the 1-meter competition Thursday at 12:45 p.m. CT. The 3-meter competition will begin at the same time on Friday.
