NORMAL, Ill.  – The sixth and final Redbird Basketball Coaches Shows of the 2014-15 season will air tonight, live from the Pub II in Normal, Illinois. Fans can listen live on GoRedbirds.com, as Barb Smith and Dan Muller, along with associate head men's basketball coach Torrey Ward, preview the Redbirds' games this week, including the 2015 Missouri Valley Conference Men's Basketball Tournament and the women's team's regular-season finale at Southern Illinois Saturday.
The Barb Smith Show, hosted by Eric Stock, starts out the night at 6 p.m. Coach Smith will be joined by sophomore forward Zenobia Bess. The Redbirds return to the road for the final game of the regular season, as they take on Southern Illinois Saturday at 2:05 p.m. Bess is averaging 3.1 points and 2.8 rebounds per game so far this season. She leads the Redbirds in blocks with 20, while recording 16 steals and 15 assists.Â
The Dan Muller Show follows at 7 p.m., hosted by Dick Luedke and Mike Matthews. Muller and Ward will be joined by seniors Daishon Knight and Bobby Hunter. Knight leads the Redbirds with 13.9 points per game and is second on the team in assists with 75. Hunter averages 7.5 points per game and is third on the team in assists with 42. The men's team earned a No. 4 seed for Arch Madness, after an overtime win at Evansville. Illinois State will take on No. 5 Evansville for the second time in a week Friday at 2:30 p.m., in the quarterfinal round.
