Redbirds Raise Funds for The Baby Fold at Talent Show

NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State student-athletes raised $720 for The Baby Fold at the third-annual 'Hardly Normal' Talent Show, hosted by Illinois State's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC), Monday night at Bone Student Center.

The two-hour event included acts from 12 of Illinois State's athletic teams. The acts were judged by a panel of VIPs, which selected the swimming and diving team as the overall winner. Illinois State's gymnastics team took second place.

The talent show also featured performances from student groups Gamma Phi Circus and Urban Movement, and from the community, the Dobski Dancers.

Admission to the event was free and donations were collected at the door on behalf of the Baby Fold of Normal.

The Baby Fold was born out of one woman's desire to care for others and originally started in 1902 by Nancy Mason. The faith-based orphanage for infants and young children has grown in to a multi-service agency, specializing in the care of today's most vulnerable children. They focus on improving the lives of children and families by building safe, loving, healthy environments through adoption services, foster care, residential care, special education and family and community services.
