MADRID, Spain – A tour of Madrid's 81,000-seat soccer stadium and a scavenger hunt through the city were on the agenda Monday for day four of the Illinois State men's basketball team's 10-day trip to Spain.
After winning their first of four exhibition games Sunday night, the Redbirds spent Monday morning touring Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, the massive home of Madrid's professional soccer team, Real Madrid C.F. The tour started on the stadium's top level, continued through a Real Madrid C.F. museum space, and ended on the field.
Following a team lunch, ISU players and coaches were divided into groups and sent, with a map, on a scavenger hunt throughout downtown Madrid. Click here to view a photo gallery from day four.
Illinois State plays its second of four exhibition games Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. CT versus the Madrid All-Stars. For live updates throughout the game, follow ISU on Twitter: @ISURedbirds.
