NORMAL, Ill. – Taylor Morano has joined the Illinois State women's basketball and volleyball staffs as the operations associate, Illinois State Athletics announced Thursday.
"I am so excited that Taylor Morano will be joining our staff," head women's basketball coach Barb Smith said. "Knowing Taylor personally from our time together at St. Louis University, Taylor is a go-getter; she has a tremendous amount of energy; she is creative and she has an exceptional work ethic. She is one of the most positive people I know. Taylor will definitely make a positive impact for both women's basketball and volleyball."
Morano is eager to work with both the women's basketball and volleyball teams.
"It is such a privilege to be a part of the women's basketball and volleyball teams here at ISU," Morano said. "I am looking forward to the opportunity and working with such great people."
Over the summer, Morano worked with the Chicago Sky as a youth basketball and ticket sales intern. She helped plan youth basketball programs, Nike Elite Invitational Tournament, Dwayne Wade/Chicago Sky Academy Camp, promotional events and theme nights on home gamedays. She also worked with ticket sales, game day operations and development.
While working towards a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration with a concentration in sport business at St. Louis, Morano spent five years as the women's basketball manager. Her responsibilities included preparing practice facilities, organizing equipment for the team and arranging food orders for away games. In addition, Morano also oversaw videotaping of games and practices, created signs and posters advertising home games, and kept team stats during games and practices.
The Lombard, Illinois, native also spent a summer working as a camp counselor at the KE Children's Summer Camp, where she organized and constructed activities and events.
