NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State softball team will host crosstown Heartland Community College Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Marian Kneer Stadium.
The Redbirds have played one fall exhibition this season, a 20-hit performance against Lake Land College.
The fall season will feature five games after Wednesday's contest. ISU will finish this week with a Sunday doubleheader in Champaign against Illinois. The Fighting Illini defeated ISU on a walk-off home run during the 2015 season.
On Oct. 1, ISU will host Illinois Central College at 5:30 p.m. in a makeup game from last Friday's rainout.
ISU will make their last trip of the fall on Oct. 4 when they travel to Barrington, Illinois, to face DePaul. The Blue Demons defeated the Redbirds in a one-run game last season.
Illinois State closes the fall campaign with a home doubleheader against Wisconsin at 1 p.m. Oct. 10.
