COLUMBUS, Ohio – Competition continued on day two of the ITA Midwest Regionals with the third round of qualifying singles matches, the first round of main draw singles matches and the first round of doubles matches. Christoffer Greve and Dylan Steffens won their first doubles match of the tournament.
Greve and Steffens defeated Green Bay's Florian Kraenzler and Charlie Ridout 8-1. Urh Krajnc Domiter and Andreas Boers lost in a close battle against Youngstown State's Matt Kritzinger and Luke Purser 8-7.
"Overall we played some real solid singles and competed well in each match," said head coach Mark Klysner. "We definitely had some chances to pull off some wins. Waiting all day long for doubles wasn't easy on the guys, but credit to Chris and Dylan for putting together a comfortable win tonight.
After pulling off two wins on day one, Boers went on to defeat Western Michigan's Daniel Loebel 6-4, 6-3 but later fell to Notre Dame's Guillermo Cabrera 7-5, 6-2.
Greve fell to Northwestern's Dominik Stary 6-0, 7-5 in the third round of qualifying singles matches. Steffens was defeated in a three-set match against Illinois' Julian Childers 6-1, 4-6, 6-1 and Krajnc Domiter was defeated by Wisconsin's Josef Dodridge 7-5, 6-1.
