NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team will return to the water after a week's rest, as it welcomes the Ball State Cardinals to Horton Pool Friday at 5 p.m.
The Redbirds last swam Oct. 28 in a dual meet against Indiana State at Terre Haute, Indiana, coming out on top against the Sycamores, 176.5-85.5.
"Our meet against Ball State will be a competitive and fun meet for us," ISU head swimming coach Scott Cameron said. "It's our last dual meet of this calendar year, and it will be exciting to be in front of our home crowd. Ball State has some fast athletes, so we should see a lot of great races in the pool Friday."
The diving team will be competing for the first time since Oct. 22, when the Redbirds lost in a double dual against Southern Illinois and Illinois, in Champaign, Illinois.
"It will be a great meet to challenge the divers, as we head into our midseason meet next week," head diving coach Phil Hoffmann said. "Ball State is a very deeply-talented and well-coached group. It will be a great meet for us at this time in the season."

The Illinois State swimming and diving team heads to the Louisville Invite next weekend, competing Nov. 18-20, in Louisville, Kentucky, in what will be the Redbirds' final competition of the calendar year.
