Big Ten Conference member Michigan State took the top spot with a score of 195.100, followed by Western Michigan with a score of 193.600 in second place. The Redbirds were third with a final total of 191.900 and Wisconsin-Stout rounded out the competition in fourth place with a total of 184.600.

"It was a rough meet today. We had a lot of little aches and pains we are battling and the girls are tired from back to back meets every weekend and are just pushing through right now," head coach Bob Conkling said. "Ultimately, I was happy with floor and that was the event I was most worried about."

Senior Amanda Mohler, the Midwest Independent Conference Specialist of the Week, tied for first on beam with a score of 9.800 to continue her strong season. Marie Priest also shined for the Redbirds, with a solid vault score of 9.750. Freshman Meredith LaRoche also continued her solid contribution by taking fifth in the all-around with a 38.300, with a floor exercise score of 9.850 highlighting the meet for the talented freshman.

"Marie did awesome today and was the most solid gymnast on the team," Conkling stated. "She had a fantastic vault beam and floor routine and really showed confidence with her performance."
The Redbirds return to action Saturday, March 3, at 4 p.m., in the Illinois Classic in Champaign, Ill.
