PITTSBURGH – Illinois State recorded a season-high event score on floor and saw strong individual performances throughout the tri-meet on Sunday, as the Redbirds finished in third place behind host Pittsburgh and West Virginia in the regular-season finale at Fitzgerald Field House.
Scoring Breakdown:
•   Pitt: 196.400
•   West Virginia: 195.350
•   Illinois State: 193.625
Team Notes:
•   Illinois State started on bars and posted a solid score of 47.325 to start off the meet. The Redbirds then followed that up with a bounce-back effort on beam, scoring 48.600 (third highest score of the season on the event) to climb back in it
•   The Redbirds kept building and put together their highest score of the season on the floor, as ISU scored 49.000 thanks to a strong anchor routine by senior Jaly Jones.
•   ISU finished the meet strong on the vault, scoring 48.700 (third highest score of the season on the event) wrap things up.
Gymnast Notes:
•   Savannah Ray and Sammie Wolf were the highest finishers for the Redbirds on vault, tying for sixth place with scores of 9.800.
•   Julia Heiner scored 9.800 on bars to tie for eighth place, while Ray added a second Top 10 finish in 10th with a score of 9.775.
•   Ally Lau continued to shine on the balance beam, placing second overall with a 9.825 … it was her third score of 9.825 or higher in her last three meets. Audrey Hiatt placed seventh with a score of 9.750, while Courtney Woods added a Top 10 finish in a tie for eighth with a 9.725.
•   Jones led the way for the Redbirds on floor, finishing in a tie for fourth place with her 9.850 …Woods and Leah Davis also placed in the Top 10 tying for seventh place with matching scores of 9.825.
•   Ray, who was competing in the all-around for the first time in her career at ISU, placed second overall with a score of 38.875 behind West Virginia's Kayla Smith.
