MADISON, Wisc. – Coming off of a big win against Army on Sunday, the Illinois State men's tennis team, now 5-5, will face the ITA Division I No. 55 ranked Wisconsin Badgers, 7-1, in Madison, Wisconsin, on Thursday.                                                  Â
"The guys are fired up to play Wisconsin this week," head coach Mark Klysner said. "Anytime you get to see how you stack up against a ranked program, it gives you an opportunity to see where we stand with the nation's best. Going into this match I think we are confident that we have a chance to play very well and look for an upset."
This is the first time that the Redbirds will be facing Wisconsin since Klysner was hired as head coach in the 2013-14 season.
ISU heads into competition with sophomore Christoffer Greve reaching a double digit undefeated streak of 10-0 in dual singles wins. Greve's overall record for the year is now 14-3, which topples his record last year of 12-8 on the season. With half of the dual matches left in the year, including Thursday's match against Wisconsin, Greve has the opportunity to gain 12 more singles victories to his season record.
The match versus Wisconsin is set to begin Thursday, at 6 p.m., at the Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
