TEMPE, Ariz. – The Illinois State women's and men's tennis programs both earned the 2015-16 Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-Academic Team award, as announced by the ITA.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is presented to ITA programs that achieve a cumulative team grade point average (GPA) of 3.20 or above on a 4.00 scale. All varsity letter winners were factored into the cumulative team GPA for the 2015-16 academic year.
Additionally, both ISU programs had student-athletes earn ITA Scholar-Athlete status by: 1) being a varsity letter winner, 2) having a GPA of at least 3.50 for the 2015-16 academic year, and 3) having been enrolled at Illinois State for at least two semesters.
ITA Scholar-Athlete winners for the women's program included: Valerija Gercar, Veronika Golanova, Kadi Ilves, Jana Kustkova, Sarah Paulson and Catherine Shulman. ITA Scholar-Athlete winners for the men's team included: Andreas Boers, Urh Krajnc Domiter and Rolando Torrellas.
