Missouri Valley Conference Release | Women's Basketball Schedule
NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State women's basketball team will have all of its Missouri Valley Conference games this season broadcast on The Valley on ESPN3, and all of its nonconference home contests as well.
The MVC schedule is an 18-game slate, which starts for the Redbirds New Year's Day when they host Bradley at 2 p.m. Before the start of conference play, ISU will play six nonconference home tilts, beginning with its home opener Saturday, Nov. 19, against Valparaiso at 1 p.m.
The Redbirds will be the featured Valley game Friday, Jan. 20, when they play at defending-conference champion Missouri State. ISU also has two potential opportunities to be featured again when it hosts Wichita State Friday, Feb. 17, and when it plays at Southern Illinois Friday, Feb. 24. Both games are part of the Wildcard selection process, meaning ESPN will have the opportunity to choose from the five league contests those nights that will have the most impact to cap the conference season.
All nine MVC Conference Tournament matchups, from the opening round to the title game, will be shown on ESPN3. The tournament runs March 9-12 at the iWireless Center in Moline, Illinois.
