NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team will return home for its final home meet of the season, as the Redbirds welcome the Evansville Purple Aces to Horton Pool, Friday at 5 p.m.
Illinois State will honor six seniors before the meet: Maddie Farrell, Brittany Felice, Yvette Kruk, Laura Paskoff, Rachel Root and Kristin Verkler.
The Redbirds last competed last week, falling to Northern Iowa 192-108, in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Friday's meet will be the last for Illinois State's swimming team before the MVC Championships, Feb. 15-18; ISU's diving team will compete one last time, Feb. 4, at the UIC Diving Invitational.
"We are excited for our last dual meet of the season against a good conference opponent," ISU head swimming coach Scott Cameron said. "This will be our last chance to fine tune our races before conference, and it should be a good meet for us."
ISU head diving coach Phil Hoffmann is looking forward to Friday's challenge.
"We are looking forward to wrapping up our last home meet of the season versus a very strong Evansville diving group," Hoffmann said. "They are very well coached and will give us a good look at what's to come at MVC's in just a few weeks."
