Men’s Tennis To Split Weekend Between Detroit And Toledo

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team will travel to Detroit, Michigan to compete in a 4 p.m. match against Detroit on Saturday. From there, the squad will travel straight to Toledo, Ohio to compete in a 10 a.m. match against Toledo on Sunday.

"This weekend will be another tough one in terms of competition as both teams are very deep," said head coach, Mark Klysner. "We are still playing with a few injured guys but we'll try and play our best tennis and hope to get better and stay healthy."

The Titans are currently 2-5 in the spring campaign after falling to Western Michigan, DePaul, Northwestern Ohio, Ball State and Notre Dame. Detroit has earned wins against Duquesne and Wayne State. Toledo currently holds a record of 5-5 after falling to No. 3 Ohio State, Dayton, Valparaiso, Marquette and Green Bay. Toledo has won against Wayne State, Denison, Findlay, Duquesne and Wright State.

Play against Detroit will begin at 4 p.m. at the Franklin Athletic Club on Saturday and play against Toledo will begin at 10 a.m. at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club on Sunday. To stay up to date on the Illinois State men's tennis team, follow them on Twitter: @RedbirdMTEN.
