BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Illinois State men's tennis team fell, 6-1, Saturday at the Bloomington Tennis Center against Western Michigan. The squad's record is now 4-8.
WMU claimed the doubles point as Matt Hamilton and Jannik Opitz defeated Andreas Boers and Urh Krajnc Domiter, 6-3. The doubles team of Dylan Steffens and Egehan Sertkaya came back to defeat Billy Heckman and Nick Schnobel, 6-3. However, Kennosuke Nouchi and Eric Olivarez concluded doubles by defeating Peter Foersom and Matias Chomali, 6-1.
In singles play, Boers recorded the lone win by defeating Matej Svjetlicic, 7-5, 6-3. Krajnc Domiter fell to Kennosuke Nouchi, 7-6, 3-0, ret. Steffens fell to Matt Hamilton, 6-3, 6-4. Sertkaya fell to Jannik Opitz, 6-2, 6-0. Chomali fell to Eric Olivarez, 6-3, 7-5. Foersom fell to Nick Schnobel in a three set match, 3-6, 6-2, 6-2.
