LOUISVILLE, Ky. – After winning 11 games and improving to 20-3 in the Missouri Valley conference for the first time since 2011, Illinois State (30-17 overall) earned one vote in the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Top-25 Coaches Poll as announced Tuesday.
This is the first time the Redbirds are recognized in the coaches poll since receiving votes on Feb. 15, 2011 after going 4-1 to begin the 2011 season.
Looking to improve their 47 RPI, the Redbirds will wrap up the regular season next weekend at Marian Kneer Stadium versus UNI on Saturday at noon (DH) and Sunday at 11 a.m.
