NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State football team is off to a 2-0 start in 2017, with a pair of dominant wins to begin the season over Butler and Indiana State. This Saturday, the Redbirds begin Missouri Valley Football Conference play at Missouri State, and ISU head coach Brock Spack will preview that contest against the Bears on The Brock Spack Show LIVE from Schooners Thursday night from 6-7 p.m.
The Redbirds head into the Valley Football opener at Missouri State with one of the best defenses in FCS football. ISU currently ranks No. 1 in passing yards allowed (72), scoring defense (6.5) and total defense (79.0) and second in pass efficiency defense, rushing defense and first downs allowed. Missouri State heads into the game coming off a win last weekend against Murray State.
Coach Spack will talk with co-hosts Dick Luedke and Ted Schmitz, welcoming senior linebacker Bryce Holm as this week's player guest. The senior from Oswego is off to a strong start to the season, totaling seven tackles and 1.5 tackles-for-loss in the first two victories for the Redbirds.
