TULSA, Okla. – Illinois State men's tennis will compete in the ITA All-American Championships in Tulsa, Oklahoma Sunday through Tuesday.
"This is always one of my favorite tournaments of the fall," head coach Mark Klysner said. "It is an opportunity for our guys to play against some of the best players in the country, challenge themselves and see how we stand against the best."
The pre-qualifying singles rounds will begin on Saturday, Sept. 30 and conclude on Sunday, Oct. 1. Pre-qualifying singles will feature 256 competitors, competing for 16 spots in the qualifying rounds. The qualifying rounds will feature 128 individuals competing for 16 spots in the main draw on Monday, Oct. 2. The main draw will be comprised of 64 athletes.
 The qualifying rounds for doubles will begin on Monday, Oct. 2 featuring 64 teams. Only eight spots into the main draw are up for grabs. The main draw for doubles will include 32 teams and take place Thursday, Oct. 5 through Monday, Oct. 9.
Last weekend, the Redbirds competed in the WMU Vredevelt Invitational in Kalamazoo, Michigan. The team went 7-7 on the weekend in singles matchups.
The Redbirds topped Butler in four of five singles matches with victories coming from Igor Kolaric, Christoffer Greve, Manuel Bernhard and Cameron Petersen.
Greve and Kolaric earned two singles victories in their respective flights, improving Greve's season record to 3-3, and Kolaric's to 2-2. Bernhard took home his first two collegiate wins at the tournament.
 Petersen teamed up with Bernhard to clinch the sole win doubles over Western Michigan on day two.
Illinois State returns to action at the Louisville Invitational Oct. 13 through 15 in Louisville, Kentucky.
