ST. LOUIS – Illinois State's Caroline Lecoeur has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Diver of the Week, the league announced Tuesday. The weekly conference award is Illinois State's second of the season.
Lecoeur, a transfer student from Lyon, France, earned first-place finishes in both the 1-(292.20) and 3-meter diving events (277.95) last Friday. Lecoeur, who made her Redbird diving debut in the meet against Northern Iowa, qualified for the Zone Diving Championships in March with her 1-meter score.
Illinois State finished in a tie against Northern Iowa last week, 150-150, at Horton Pool in Normal, Illinois.
The Redbirds will compete in two meets this weekend. They will travel to Evansville, Ind. on Friday, Jan. 26, before welcoming Washington-St. Louis to Horton Pool, Saturday, Jan. 27 at 1 p.m.
