LOUISVILLE, Kent. - The Illinois State men's tennis team competed Friday, Oct. 19 in the Louisville Fall Invitational in Louisville, Kentucky.
"We had a tough day but still managed to pull some good wins. We have very good potential with this team, we just need to be stronger mentally," assistant coach Michal Kianicka said. "There is plenty of tennis left this weekend and we are looking forward to some good match ups tomorrow."
The Redbirds played out two rounds of singles, and one round of doubles, collecting two wins overall.
After falling by Louisville's David Mizrahi in a three-setter, Diego Emilio Moura Herrera took a win over APSU's' Anton Damber, 6-3, 6-1.
Cameron Petersen earned a victory over Lipscomb's Francesco Tacconi, 7-6, 6-4 before coming up short in a match match against Ball State's Conner Andersen, 6-4, 6-4
Zacharias Rankloo Rasmusson fell in both singles matchups of the day.
Herrera and Petersen were defeated by Ball State's Adams and Andersen, 8-3 in flight B of doubles.
The 'Birds will be back on the court tomorrow with doubles beginning at 10 a.m.
