Illinois State Set to Compete Across Town at Illinois Wesleyan

NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State swimming and diving team will be staying close to home this weekend, when they compete at Illinois Wesleyan's Fort Natatorium in Bloomington, Normal. This is the second double dual of the season for the Redbirds, as they take on Illinois Wesleyan and Lewis at 5 p.m. on Friday.

The Redbirds have secured a win over both Illinois Wesleyan and Lewis at this same meet the past two seasons, and are looking to continue the trend tomorrow.

"We always look forward to this meet as a chance to swim against some opponents that we normally don't see later on in the year," head swimming coach Scott Cameron said. "We will be able to test our team in a few different ways in this meet, and that gives us more information as we continue to prepare for our mid-season invite meet that is coming up in a few weeks."

"This meet will serve us well as a tune-up moving into our mid-season meet," head diving coach Phil Hoffmann added. "Each year, this meet has been a good chance for us to get on the boards and work out kinks in our lists in a competitive environment. I am looking forward to a good meet for the Redbirds."

Illinois State will host Omaha in its regular-season debut at Horton Pool next weekend. The Redbirds will take on the Mavericks beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 3. .
