NORMAL, Ill. – The Illinois State volleyball team will play its final two home matches of the 2018 regular season at Redbird Arena, Nov. 2-3, and the Redbirds want to see fans in the stands for a jam-packed weekend.
On Friday, Nov. 2, Illinois State is hosting Drake for a 7 p.m. first serve. Illinois State University professors, academic coordinators and influential personnel were hand-selected by each individual volleyball student-athlete to serve as an honorary coach for Friday night's match. These individuals, along with representatives from the University's President's Office, Board of Trustees and Athletic Council, will be recognized during the Redbirds' contest against the Bulldogs.
Illinois State returns to the court on Saturday, Nov. 3 in a key battle, when No. 25 UNI visits Redbird Arena for the team's home finale and Senior Night. Illinois State students will have an opportunity to enter a raffle drawing for a $250 Alamo II gift card, while the first 100 students through the door will receive a free Avanti's sandwich. A professional photographer will be on-site to take free holiday card photos for all Redbird fans in attendance with the newly-added ISU letters.
As always, admission is free for Reggie's Kids Club members. Kids 12 and under can still register ahead of next weekend's matches by visiting the club's website. Tickets for both matches can be purchased online, or by calling the ISU Ticket Office at (309) 438-8000. Fans that attend the Illinois State men's basketball exhibition game on Nov. 3 against Augustana (Ill.) at 12 p.m. can bring their ticket back to the Redbird Arena box office for the volleyball match against UNI that night to receive free admission to the home finale against the Panthers.
The program's five seniors – Ali Line, Courtney Pence, Jordan Weatherless, Lexi Wallen and Lexi Varga – will be recognized at the conclusion of the Redbirds' contest against the Panthers.
