NORMAL, Ill. - During Illinois State Homecoming week, Redbird fans can watch the 2018-19 ISU men's and women's basketball teams on Doug Collins Court at Redbird Arena for the first time at the annual Hoopfest season tipoff event, Friday, Oct. 12, following the volleyball match against Valparaiso at 6 p.m.
Hoopfest is free and open to the public, and $5 popcorn and drink combos will be available at the concession stands. Parking is free and available in lots surrounding Redbird Arena.
The event will kick off with the 2018 Homecoming King and Queen crowning, and will include a three-point contest, a dunk contest and end with an autograph session.
The first 500 Illinois State University students will receive a Redbird basketball t-shirt provided by The Edge Apartments and Red Alert. The giveaway will occur on the south concourse in Redbird Arena. In addition, one lucky student will also have the chance to win free rent for an entire year, courtesy of Edge Apartments.
One fan in attendance will also be selected to shoot a half-court shot with the chance to win free Papa John's Pizza for a year.

Single-game tickets for both men's and women's basketball are set to go on sale to Weisbecker Scholarship Fund donors starting on Monday, Oct. 15, and to the public on Thursday, Oct. 18.
