CLEAR BAG POLICY
Per the new clear bag policy, each ticketed guest can carry one large clear bag- either a one-gallon Ziploc-style bag or the 12"x 6"x 12" clear bag- plus a small clutch purse (4.5" x 6.5") into the venue. The small clutch must be carried into the venue outside the clear bag and is subject to search.
REDBIRD BITS
• Simone Goods began her senior campaign with a bang this week as she led all scorers in Sunday's 68-61 loss to SIUE with 25 points. This is Goods' seventh time notching 20+. The senior forward also captured her fifth career double-double, grabbing 12 rebounds.
• Mary Crompton debuted in a big way, adding a double-digit game to her resume. The freshman guard contributed the team's second-most points on Sunday with 10.Â
•The 'Birds took advantage of the charity stripe Sunday, netting 13-of-14. The team leads the Valley in this statistical category, shooting 92.9 percent at the line.
• The Redbirds moved up two spots in the preseason poll this year and were picked to finish fifth in the MVC.
• Head Coach Kristen Gillespie guided the Redbirds to their strongest finish in five years, during her first year at the helm. The Redbirds ended the 2017-18 season with a 14-16 overall record and finished sixth in the Missouri Valley Conference.
• The Redbirds return four of five starters from last season, including Saylor, Megan Talbot, Viria Livingston and Katrina Beck.
SCOUTING THE FIGHTING HAWKS
• The Fighting Hawks are off to a 1-1 start after dropping their season opener 85-49 to No. 18 Syracuse. The team faced fellow Valley opponent Valparaiso on Sunday and captured a 62-56 win.
• Lexi Klabo leads the Hawks, averaging 14 points and eight rebounds per game. The senior forward was selected to the Summit League Preseason First-Team after finishing the 2017-18 season with 16 games of 20+ points.
• North Dakota was picked to finish sixth in their league, with South Dakota State as the favorite.Â
• Head Coach Travis Brewster enters his seventh year at the helm and owns a 101-86 overall record. He has been named the Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year twice, most recently in 2017.Â
