BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Illinois State track and field standouts Ryan Ashenbremer, Jaclyn Greci, and Kameesha Smith battled through scorching temperatures to represent the Redbirds this past weekend at the USATF Junior Championships, hosted by Indiana, in Bloomington, Indiana.
Ashenbremer, the 2018 MVC Indoor and Outdoor Pole Vault Champion, posted the highest finish of the three 'Birds. He placed seventh in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.85m (15-11.00).
Greci and Smith also competed well in their respective events. Running in the 400-meter, Greci clocked in at 57.10, closing out a solid freshman campaign. Smith recorded a distance of 5.45m (17-10.75) in the long jump, completing a strong freshman season.
