CHEMNITZ, Germany - Behind a 27-point, 10-rebound double-double from rising ISU sophomore Elijah Clarance, the Swedish U20 National Team toppled Romania 80-72.
Sweden advances and will play in the game to determine 13th place in the current tournament, and will play the winner of Iceland and Greece at 7:30 a.m. (CT) Sunday morning.
Coming into the game as the leading scorer in the tournament, Clarance's 27 points are tied for his highst total in this tournament, and tied for the sixth-most individual points of all players in the field.
He made 8-of-20 shots from the field, and 9-of-15 from the charity stripe. He also added two assists and a steal in just shy of 27 minutes of action. His 10 rebounds also helped him record the first international double-double of his career.
Through his six games of the tournament, Clarance is leading Sweden in scoring (22.7), rebounding (6.7), assists (3.0), and steals (1.8)
